  • Your Birth Certificate - authenticated, and translated into Spanish... And avalid passport
  • If you've been married before, you need proof of divorce
  • A Mexican physician's note stating that the two of you are free of some specific diseases that are "impediments to marriage in Mexico"
  • X-Rays and a blood test
  • You can have a religious ceremony, but only civil ceremonies are legally recognized in Mexico!

France?...

French Mairies (see below) require some or all of the following:
·  Valid U.S. passport or a Carte de Sejour (French Residence Permit)
·  Medical Certificate
·  Affidavit of Law
·  Affidavit of Marital Status or Certificate of Celibacy
·  Cerified Copies of Your Birth Certificates
·  Final Divorce Decree, or certified copy of Death Certificate of any previous spouse(s)
¤  NOTE: All documents required by your Mairie generally must have an official French seal, and be translated by a sworn Translator.
  • At least one of you must have resided in France for a minimum of 40 days, continuously, prior to your Marriage Date.  Your French residence will determine which Mairie performs your civil ceremony.
  • Legal french marriages must be performed by a French Civil Authority - Prior to any religious ceremony!  Generally, peopl have the town Mairie (Mayor) of their residence [see above] be their French Civil Authority.
  • You MUST post a Marriage Bann (a formal announcement of intention to marry) at least 10 working days prior to your Marriage, at the Mairie where you intend to wed.
  • SacGroom's recommendation: Check with the Bureau des Mariages at the Mairie first, and the US French Embassy @ http://france.usembassy.gov!
  • Then, have Mitch perform your post-civil Wedding Ceremony!!

 

Hawaii...

  • Both of you gotta be at least 18 years old, or have Parents or Legal Guardians' Written & Certified consent
  • Proof of age
  • Hawaiian Marriage License - Get it within 30 days of your Wedding (or it becomes extinct)
  • Ya can't be 1st cousins for legal Hawaiian Marriage!
